The American odyssey relay

Wow!! What a privilege to have been asked to run this race... I joined a strong team. With amazing leaders!
Check it out online www.americanodysseyrelay.com
This was my experience I was runner 10 out of 12

Leg 10 runner 10 -9.2k
Leg 22 runner 10-7.4k
Leg 34 runner 10 -10.4

My first leg was so beautiful. I ran trails basically for approx. 4 k my nemesis kept me focused until she was out of sight. So the race started with joy passing me the baton (a neon yellow slap on bracelet). So cool.
I started up hill ran through the trails doing my very best to not get off track. When I got to the top I ran down with was breathtaking - pun intended- it was amazingly picturesque and I got a cramp I thought I was going to bust my rib I was pushing on it the pressure seemed To help with the pain AHH. So I went from the mountain to a dead end desert. We went down this dirt trail that lead to nothing and then turned around and ran to the transition which was where I passed the baton ;) to Wes.

Leg 22
This was my night run it was 1am when I started running. I felt amazing and ran hard. I ran a 5.35 pace I was pleased with the time and this run. I actually ran through the cemetery of the bloodiest battle of all time a little creepy but I felt Gods presence and I had no fear. My support van stayed pretty close. Which was nice we talked about fences thanks to John Mac. Joy Henderson joined me for the last 2k, and sprinted with me the last bit. There is something invigorating about running at a ridiculous time of the night. It was so worth it.

Leg 32- I was sore. Really really sore. I comforted myself by thinking I only had 10 k to run - which is doable with not much effort lol- this run was also beautiful! Very beautiful and smelled amazing!
I ran along the canal -it went on and on and on. :)
I was not with any other runner when I felt like I had possibly gone the wrong way. I prayed for a confirmation and I turned and saw another runner.
I battled with looking back- i didn't want to represent a 'lots wife' but I believed that the Lord gave me the release in saying that as a leader you need to make sure you have followers ( you wouldn't be a leader without them lol). It was so relieving to see another runner. He approached me after thanking me for keeping him going lol he said knowing I was there kept him going he started behind and then passed me but knowing I was there helped him- I told him I was glad I could be there for him :) he was genuine. I got what he was saying.
I finished that leg running faster then I ever thought possible after all I had already done. it took me 1:03 to run it.
I ran 27.7k and finished strong!! I am sore now but it hurts so good!
God is so faithful.
