Walk the Call

We have been commissioned to go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. We have been called to love.

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20 NLT)

And again... Mark style.

And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.” (Mark 16:15-18 NLT)

So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” (John 13:34, 35 NLT)

Commissioned to go and Commissioned to Love

So He commissions us gives us a vision and a promise and we start to walk the call with great passion ...then we get married both passionate about God, each other and the call individually and together... then we have children. Who unexpectedly become our closest most intimate disciples. Who also become our character builders :)
The call is still there, still stirring.
The Go is maybe a bit faint and the vision a bit blurry. But still there. Still burning (at least there are still embers).
This scenario begs the question. What happens to the call and vision when I'm exhausted and there seems to be no extra time in the day? From date nights to laundry, cleaning, diapers, bath time and so on. ..These are all things that demand our attention.
We need to consciously continue to let the vision brew and ask for strategies... His timing is amazing.
TRUST!
When He called you He equipped you! This is part of your basic training...
Take a look at it this way.
-He who has started a good work in you is faithful to complete it. He sees the end from the beginning and when He called you He saw what was up ahead
-He will lead you gently and at a slower pace during this season.
He will feed his flock like a shepherd.
He will carry the lambs in his arms,
holding them close to his heart.
He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young. (Isaiah 40:11 NLT)

Don't give up on the call. Take every opportunity to see your seeming set back/detour as part of the call, building in you the character needed to complete the call.

He is building in you the character needed to walk the call. Don't doubt it just do it.
